The bar chart illustrates three separate ways of refuse disposal in particular European country between 2005 and 2008.
Overall, while the amount of waste disposed by landfill and dumping in sea observed a significant decrease, there was a small rise in the level of refuse treated by the method burning from 2005 to 2008. Additionally, incineration was the most popular method of disposal at the end of the given period.
In 2005, starting at 70 million of tons, the level of waste disposed by putting the refuse into land was recorded the largest amount, and this figure was 15 million of tons more than that of refuse treated by dumping in sea. Meanwhile, approximately 65 million of tons was presented in the same year.
The level of refuse disposed by landfill continued fall significantly from exactly 60 million of tons in 2006 and ending to 40 million of tons in 2008, making it the lowest amount at the end of the recorded year. Likewise, there was an exponential decrease to precisely 40 million of tons in the amount of waste treated by method dumping in sea in 2008, after a stability of half million of tons in 2006 and 2007. By contrast, in 2008 the level of waste disposed by incineration contributed approximately the same figure at the start of the given period, at 65 million of tons, after a remarkable drop of 30 million of tons
