The table shows the information about the number of speakers from different language. Overall, the vast majority of people speak Mandarin Chinese while English is the second most common language.
As illustrated in the table, the number of Mandarin Chinese native speakers accounted for 900 million, which is also the highest figure. Meanwhile, only 190 million people use Mandarin Chinese as an additional language. Regarding English, which is the second most common language in the world with 942 million in total. However, the majority of people use English as an additional language (603 million) which is double that of the figure for native speakers.
Hindi is the language which has 370 million native speakers, followed by Spanish with 350 million. Furthermore, the number of people who are native speakers of Arabic and Portuguese language accounted for a little higher than 200 million. The number of people use Hindi and Arabic as an additional language accounted for 120 million and 24 million which are twice as many as the number of people who speak Spanish and Portuguese, respectively.
