You travelled by a long distance bus recently and your suitcase was damaged.
Write a letter to the bus company. In your letter
• Inform the bus company of when and to where you travelled.
• Describe your suitcase and what happened to it.
• Explain why the company should pay for a new suitcase.
Dear Sir,
My name is Truong Nguyen and I currently have a gold membership of your travelling service. Lately, I have decided to have a business trip from Ho Chi Minh City to Da Nang and I chose to travel by bus which was your company’s. However, I had faced some problems with my suitcase by the time I arrived and thus, I am writing this letter to require your attention to this matter and demand a compensation.
I have paid for a round-trip ticket for the departure on March 1st and return on March 10th using my gold membership card. On registration, I checked on ‘Fragile luggage’ and the staffs assured that my suitcase in which contained my laptop and other high-technology gadgets would be delivered carefully. I didn’t check again until I arrived at the hotel, the suitcase had a crack at the bottom and everything inside was broken, and I was sure to stick to it all the way to my accommodation. All the important information saved in laptop was lost. Now I cannot work or have a meeting with my colleagues. I am very disappointed with your bus service this time.
Therefore, I am demanding a payment from your company for the replacement of my belongings including compensation for my broken suitcase. If we cannot go to an agreement, I will have to open a lawsuit upon this situation.
I am looking forward to receiving your answer.
Yours sincerely,
Truong N.
