You live in an English speaking country and you want to do some voluntary, unpaid work in a developing country. Write a letter to a company called Cultural Expeditions, which organizes such trips. In your letter:
Explain why you want to do the voluntary work.
State what your skills and experience are.
Indicate where you would like to volunteer and for how long.
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to express my desire to do some volunteering work in developing countries particularly in India.
Since my childhood, I am interested in doing social service and done so many voluntary works in different NGO in United Kingdom especially in midland area. Last year I got admission in Nottingham University in sociology and one of the exams is to present paper on international social interaction.
I am proficient in three languages and these are Spanish, French and of course English. Though I am equally good in all three, English is the one which I feel more comfortable than other two. I have been teaching English in high school in my area for last two years and also guide the students for international language exam. I am not registered tutor but quite famous in my area and my blogs can be referred for more information.
I like to interact with people having rich cultural background and I feel that none other could be better than India. My uncle lived in India for eight years and told numerous stories about people, back ground, different cultures etc. I can spend around eight weeks for voluntary work as my university holiday starts in April to until 3rd June.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Yours Sincerely
Toto
