In this set of materials the readig passages discuses that the glasses that use as desing for buildings led to harm to birds so suggested some solution to avoid from happen for birds. While the professor in the listening casts doupt on what is presented in the text and believes that the solution that mentioned in the reading passages is not really practical.
First of all, in the text it is clearly mentioned that using one-way glass that is transparent only in one direction can used as a good solution. However, the propfessor claims that the problem of this way is that this kind of glass reflected the sunlight as a mirror and the birds have not ability of indentifing mirror and also this glass reflected the sky color and pictur so it is can itself as a threaten for birds.
In addition, the professor disagrees with this idea that using paint colorful lines or some designs can solve this problem. He says that birds see this designs as a holes and it is led to they move toward its, And to prevent brids do that the design or paints should be present in the big size and in this condition people can not see the out side of building. Therefore this solyution is not practical.
Finally, in the text it is stated that using artificial field to help birds for stay away from buildings. the professor subscribes that it is true that birds used magnetic fieds to navigate but they used this abibility for long way travels for example, going from cold area to wormer region before winter. But they used their eyes for short trips for example uin the cities. so this solution is unreasonable.
