The chart below shows the percentage of households in rented and owned accommodation in England and Wales between 1918 and 2011

Given a diagram illustrating the quality of owned and rented houses in UK and Wales from 1918 to 2011. It is apparent from the information supplied that the rented houses showed a significant decrease while there was an increase in the percentage of owned houses.
Increasing from over a little bit 20% in 1918 and doubled to 50% in 1971, the proportion of these families that owned accommodation continually rose nearly 70% in 2011 before dropping to approximately 64% in 2011. In contrast with the exponential growth of owned houses, these rented one, at the beginning of the period, demonstrated the dominant position with the highest percent about 78% in 1918. However, this proportion brought a sustained decline in this figure after the high. Moreover, the following two years remained at 69%. After that, it saw a rapid fall in the percentage to somewhere in the vicinity of 31% in 2001, followed by a climb in 2011 to about 35%.
