It is clear that Indian students were most proficient in a second language. Additionally, apart from Thailand, female students were better at learning a foreign language than males in all other countries.
For females, the percentage of students in India mastering a foreign language was highest, nearly 70%. The figure for Romania was slightly lower, just over 60%. At the same time, 56% and 42% were the proportions of learners being proficient in a second language in Vietnam and Russia. Meanwhile, Chinese students who were good at an international language made up 28% compared to 26% that of Thailand.
In terms of male, Indian learners were better at studying a second language than students in the remaining countries, which was at 56%. The percentage of students in Romania was significantly lower at 42%. At the same time, the figure for Vietnamese who mastered an international language made up 40%, compared to 35% and approximately 33% those of Russia and Thailand. By contrast, China witnessed the lowest proportion of learners studying a foreign language, at roughly 17%
