The pie charts illustrated the percentage of Oscar nominations by film genres between 2003 and 2008. Overall, it is evident that thriller and action were genres where individuals won Oscar more than different film genres.
In 2003, almost half of Oscar nominations by thriller films awarded. Whereas, documentary, romance and sci-fi were film genres accounting for only 5% for each genre. Likewise, 5% of the total Oscar winners were people acting comedy films. Meanwhile, the percentage of Oscar nominees by action films stood at approximately 20%. At the same time, there were just over 10% of actors or actresses who won Oscar by horror films.
In 2008, there were a plunge to more than a third in the figure for thriller films, while the quantity of Oscar winners by documentary, romance and sci-fi increased slightly by 5% per genre. The proportion of Oscar nominations by comedy films almost unchanged compared to 2003, about 5%. At the same time, the percentage of people winning Oscar by action films grew up nearly 25%. Whereas, the number of Oscar nominees by horror films reduced to nearly 10%.
