The diagram illustrates the process that is used to manufacture bricks for the building industry. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features and make comparisons where relevant.
The presented flow chart describes brick production and its next steps of delivery in the field of construction.
The process includes 7 main stages, beginning with the exploitation of clay and ending with brick transportation.
Turning into detail, the first step in the process is clay excavation with the use of a big digger. Applying it as the starting material, clay is later put on a metal grid, where the small fragments then fall onto a large roller. Following this, sand and water are added to the clay. Afterward, premature bricks are shaped in two different ways: applying a mould or splitting a big brick into smaller ones by a wire cutter. In the next stage, they are heated in the drying oven for 24 to 48 hours.
Subsequently, bricks undergo two heating phases in two distinct kilns: the moderate one, at 200◦C to 980◦C; and the high one, at 870◦C to 1300◦C. This step is followed by a cooling process, which is conducted in a cooling chamber for 48 to 72 hours. After the packaging step, the process is finished by the delivery using a truck.
