You live in a room in college which you share with another student. However, there are many problems with this arrangement and you find it very difficult to study/work.
Write a letter to the accommodation officer at the college. In the letter:
describe the situation
explain your problems and why it is difficult to study/work
say what kind of accommodation you would prefer
Dear Sir,
I am a student at Trinity College and currently I am living in a shared your at your student accommodation hall named Derwent Valley. I am a final year student and hence I have to focus a hundred percent on my studies. However, the person with whom I am sharing my room is a first year student and has no respect for my time or studies.
First of all, I would like to state that I live in room no. 22 on the 2nd floor. The person sharing the room with me often forgets his keys and asks me to open the door every single time. Furthermore, he often brings a few friends along with him even after visiting hours and they listen to loud music. I have informed the hall tutor regarding this issue but he has yet to take any action. On top of that, my room mate keeps snoring every day which disturbs my sleep. I have even tried putting ear-muffs on but it does not help much. Lastly, but not least, the above mentioned person keeps his garbage in for a few days. Often, there is a foul smell and I have recently noticed some bugs. I am quite scared that this may lead to severe diseases if not taken care of.
Therefore, with the above mentioned reasons and since my semester final is coming closer, I would like to request you for any other room at your accommodation that is available currently. I am willing to pay any extra charges but since this is urgent, I hope you will be kind enough to resolve the matter immediately. Please inform me about the procedure and if there is anything else I can do to speed up the process.
With Regards.
