Next month you are coming to Britain to study at a university in Scotland. On the way, you have a two day 'stop-over' in London. You need accommodation for one night and you would like to use this time to see as much as possible of London. You will need to use public transport. As a student, you have a limited budget.
Write a letter to the London Travel Information Center explaining your situation and asking for advice on accommodation, sight-seeing and transport facilities in London.
Dear Sir,
With all due respect, I would like to begin by informing you that I am coming to London between 14th and 16th February on a transit to Glasgow, Scotland. I will attend a summer course in Glasgow College for the next couple of weeks. Hence, since I will be spending a couple of days in London, I am requesting some necessary information from you.
For decades, the London Transport Information Center has provided the best information for students and tourists alike and I hope you will be able to do the same for me. I will stay at a budget hotel probably near a railway station. Please let me know if there is anything between £50 to £100 for the night for a room. I need my own bathroom but also I cannot afford to pay too much for the food and accommodation since I am a student. In addition to that, if the location of the inn is within the city center, I would be able to visit the famous historical as well as the heritage sites of the city. Please let me know the best possible area and lodge that I can stay at.
Therefore, with the reasons stated above, I hope that you will provide me the best selection of hotel and also a list of places to visit. On another note, please let me know if there are any student discounts at this time of the year. I am really hoping to hear from you soon.
With Regards.
