The graph below shows the amount of money spent on books in Germany, France, Italy and Austria between 1995 and 2005.
Write a report for a university lecturer describing the information below.
The given line graph represents the expenditure on books by four different countries namely germany, france, italy and australia from 1995 to 2005. Units are measured in US dollars.
Overall, germany spent a bigger amount of money on books in the given period. However, the expenditure by other three countries varied in ten years.
In 1995, the total paid out by germany was $80 which raised slightly to 90 dollars in 1999 before dropping at just over 80 dollars and than a sudden increase can be observed at the end of year 2005. Whereas, france experienced an increasing trend for about 55 to 75 dollars from 1995 to 2005.
On the other hand, only 30 dollars were spent on books by australia In 1995 which was lowest as compared to other nations, climbed to $40 in 1999 and remained plateaued until 2001. After that it showed a rapid increase at over 70 dollars in 2005. italy spent 50 dollar in 1995 and slowly increased to 55 which again decreased to 50 in 1999. Then there was dramatic increase up to around 62 in 2005.
