The bar chart illustrates an overview of the number of hours that different groups of married men and women undertake unpaid work per week.
It can be seen from the chart that married females spend significantly larger time on unpaid activities than married males.
Noticeably, women having children tend to perform these activities more than who do not.
Looking at the information in more details, females belonging to every category shown do unpaid work much more frequently than males, with at least 30 hours per week. By contrast, the average hours of married men doing household works do not even reach 20 hours per week with respect to those with or without children at home.
In fact, after getting married with 1 to 2 offsprings, 50 hours of women per week goes on childcare, chores, and so on. Interestingly, when a married couple has three more children in their family, the average hours of unpaid work that women spend on are 60 hours weekly, which is well over triple as high as those for males.
