In many countries nowadays, people still live with their parents after marriage. Do you think this trend has more advantages or disadvantages?

In recent years, while some youngsters have a tendency to relocate after marriage, many of them still decide to continue living under the same roof with their parents. Although this phenomenon has some advantages, I would say that the drawbacks are more significant.
On the one hand, sharing a house together with parents after getting married can be of great benefits. Firstly, the lifestyles of young people are becoming more and more hectic with limitless load of work and pressure, thereby having less time to take care of their children as well as their own houses. Having parents to share the amount of household chores or parenting would be such an extreme relief for the burden youngsters already have. Vice versa, it is probably the best for children and parents to stick together as most developing countries have poor social welfare systems and the old therein must depend on their kids to be looked after, especially in case of emergency. Finally, by living together, both parents and their children will save on such living expenses as rent, utility bills, renovations or shared grocery bills which significantly decreases financial pressures for both. Therefore, they will have the advantages to invest in other future plans.
Notwithstanding, the drawbacks of this trend are liable to outweigh the foregoing benefits. Firstly, owing to the generation gap, different points of view and quarrels are nearly unavoidable, for example, in terms of timelines and restrictions. Old people tend to go to bed earlier while youngsters tend to have a lively nightlife. Other complicated conflicts could arise between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, which are bound to seriously damage the marriage relationships of the young. Disagreements about types of child discipline also cause conflicts, as grandparents would likely to pamper their grandchildren, meanwhile parents have other modern practices of bringing up their kids. Living with parents also means less privacy and less freedom, which are vital to nurture a marriage relationship. Many parents tend to control over their children’s life as a habit since they were a child, meaning they have to always live by their parents’ norms and rules. Lastly, while people who move outside have to decide and handle everything from the smallest things such as housework to other serious problems such as financial status, people who live with their parents will be less concerned about many issues, which makes them becoming less independent in their mature life.
