The bar chart below shows the percentage of budget the average family spent on restaurant meals.
An illustration compares the expenditure ratio on restaurants meals and homemade meals and gives information about the number of meals eaten in two different restaurant types during four-year period
It can be seen from the pie chart that in the first year of the time period, the average family spent only one-tenth of their total food budget on eating outside. this lowest budget resulted in smallest number of meals in both types of restaurants. there is no difference in this number of meals between fast food and sitdown restaurants, 20 meals per year. After one decade, the spending ratio on restaurant meals increased by 5% that led to the higher frequency of outside meals in restaurants.
The most significant point in those charts charts can be seen in the two last decades. In particular, the food expenditure rose significantly in 1990, it was about three times higher than that of the year 1970. As a result, there was an increase in the number of meals which were slight in sit- down restaurants while dramatic in fast food one. In the year 2000, the money spared for restaurant meals was five times as much that of the beginning point, which correlated to the skyrocketed numbers of outside meals, especially in the pattern of fast food
In summary, there was an upward trend in the eating-out budget as well as meals eaten in two restaurant category. this rise was more sharp in final years
