The graph below shows the quantities of goods transported in the UK between 1974 and 2002 by four different modes of transport.
The graph provides information about the rates of transported goods by several ways of transportation in the UK among 28 years from 1974 to 2002.
As the graph illustrates using road and pipe line were increased gradually between 1974 and 1978 and reached to approximate levels of 5 and 70 respectively. In comparison, road way was shown gradual decrease in 1982, but pipeline was risen to about 20. Then, both of them hit the highest point during 1994 and 1998.
On the other hand, both water and rail modes were indicated the same level by almost 40 at the beginning of the period up to 1978. While, water method was shown a dramatic rise in 1982; in comparison, rail transport suddenly dipped and reached to about 35. Afterwards, in two ways of transportation, a partial fluctuation was seen to 2002.
Overall, among varied modes of transport in the UK, road and pipeline were contributed as the most and the least ways in these years. However, there were sensible changes in four modes which cause variation among them.
