The graph compares the proportion of the teacher’s recruitment according to the graduation year in Ontario during the period between 2001 and 2007. during this time period these proportions in two adverse direction.
between 2001 and 2002, both the percentage of english-language teachers and french-language teachers fell slightly,from about 70% to under 60%. after that, the figure for french language recruited teachers recovered and peaked at just under 70%, while the percentage of english teachers continued to fall to 40% in 2003.
In the next five years , there was an upward fluctuation in the percentage of french-language teachers. it reached a peak at around 75% in the 2007. On the other hand, after dropping to 40% in 2003, the figure of french teachers increased marginally and went up to around 45%.Then, over the period between 2005 and 2007, it plunged from 45% to under 30%.
In conclusion, although in the beginning point the proportion of english teachers and french teacher was quite equal to each other, there was a clearly disproportion between these proportion in the final year of this time period.
