A friend has written to you asking for advice about a problem at work. You have had a similar problem in the past.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
• tell your friend you understand the problem
• explain what happened to you in the past
• Suggest a possible solution to this problem.
Dear Charles,
I’m glad to hear from you, after a long time. Also, I’m happy that your professional career starts from a reputed organization as a “Business Analyst”. It’s a good start.
From your previous letter, I perceive your difficulty in your current role, because of multiple projects you are leading the same time. The same situation I have faced during the beginning of my career. When I was working as “Plant Engineer”, I struggled a lot initially to finish the tasks on time. Fortunately, my Reporting Manager assisted me to get familiar with prioritization skills.
It is the stage where we should be transformed into a professional. Here, there is no training module or guide to assist you and you have to learn these soft skills by experience. At first, schedule your tasks with proper deadlines and stretch beyond your office hours, if requires. By reviewing your previous day task status daily, you can track your progress. But, relax yourself in the weekends to avoid feeling exhausted. In addition to these, consult your boss when you need any help, which will create a good relationship with him.
Hope, you will get back to me with more optimistic views soon.
Cheers,
Daniel
