Your local council is considering closing a sports and leisure centre that it runs, in order to save money.
Write a letter to the local council. In your letter
give details of how you and your friends or family use the centre
explain why the centre is important for the local community
describe the possible effects on local people if the centre closes
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing this letter to you to revoke the permission given to the municipal corporation to close the community center club. As there are a lot of senior citizens and kids living in our society, we need to keep it running so that they can practice yoga, games and sports within their vicinity.
I and my family have been using the gym for 3 years and all my friends are fond of swimming pool. My grandfather use to go for leisure walk in the evening and excecise with his fellow mates. In addition, the society's club is used at its peak in winter's as people come around to bask in sun and can have get together which helps to maintain healthy social life. The nearest park from the residence is almost 2 kms which will increase the commute time for most of the people and thereby more people will be affected by this change.
Would it be possible to apply an annual fees or membership for existing users? As a part of committee council, I can arrange a meeting and wherein we can make the people aware of the new regulations to avert the closure of center. It aids the individuals to maintain and foster the healthy lifestyle.
I am waiting to hearing from you soon.
Your's faithfully
Apoorva Chikara
