The chart below shows the number of trips made by children in one country in 1990 and 2010 to travel to and from school using different modes of transport.
This bar graph compares five different methods of transport used by children in a country to travel back and forth to school in 1990 and 2010.
The most significant trend was in the number of travels made by cars. it has dramatically increased from 4 million trips in 1990 to around 11 million in 2010.
Regarding walking as a mean to reach the school, it had decreased about the half in 2010. Similarly, walking and bus methods had the same amount of change. Cycling, on the other hand, had a sharp decrease of about three and a half in 2010. While the usage of buses also decreased, but it was not as significant as the other methods going from 7 million travels in 1990 to around 5 millions in 2010.
Overall, there was a major change in the usage of different transportation methods to reach school in that country between 1990 and 2010.
