IELTS Writing Task 1: table
The tables below give information about sales of Fairtrade*-labelled coffee and bananas in 1999 and 2004 in five European countries.
Table
The given tables represent the statistics of profits generated by sales of Fairtrade-labelled coffee and bananas in 5 European countries in both 1999 and 2004. All the number are calculated in millions of euros.
It is apparent that coffee sales in all countries presented increased while only 3 of 5 nations witnessed a rise in terms of bananas sales, the rest sufferred from marginal decline.
Starting at 3 millions in the field of coffee profit in 1999, the figure of Switzerland then doubled to 6 millions of profit. Similarly, Denmark, Belgium and Sweden underwent a slight rise ranging from 0.2 millions to 0.7 millions over the years. However, the most staggering variation occurred in UK when their sales of this produce leapt from 1.5 millions to 20 millions.
Meanwhile, the amounts of money gained by customers' consumption of bananas differed significantly. Switzerland alone was able to make a greater sum of money than the rest added altogether as their sales reached 15 millions in 1999. The figure then soared to an extreme that is even more than 3 times the original sales: 47 millions in 2004. Likewise, both the UK and Sweden demonstrated substantial change with an increase of 4.5 millions and 3.4 millions, respectively. Contrastly, bananas are consumed less in Sweden and Belgium as their sales dropped together.
