Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to tell you about my latest three-day crash course on Value Added Tax topic. This short course was organized by the Federal tax Authority in Dubai. They planned it from 1st May to 3rd May 2019 and 1st Jun to 3rd Jun 2019. I attended it in May batch.
I liked about many points about this course. Firstly, I liked the idea to make business community aware, and not to simply enact the law and levy penalty. Further, staff was mainly from Ministry itself. Team was highly qualified and had relevant work experience from the Big 4 audit firms. Content and planning was also impressive. They started the presentation with the historical background of VAT and reason for introducing VAT. Gradually, they progressed with registration and invoicing. Finally, they ended the lecture with hefty penalties for anyone’s wrongdoings and their tax evasion. Overall, presentation was well organized
On the other hand, there are some areas for improvement with regards to selection of speakers, which may bring more clarity on the topic. Speakers were not pretty much confident in reverse charge mechanism, probably, due to lack of exposure. I suggest that speaker’s selection should be based on experience in relevant field rather than simply being staff of Big 4.
With this, I would like to wrap up with a note of thanks to nominate on company behalf and helping me to sharpen my skill set with this course.
Yours sincerely
Tom Edward
