The chart below shows the annual number of rentals and sales (in various formats) of films from a particular store between 2002 and 2011.
The amount of yearly selling and rentals four different film form (rentals, VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray) in particular movie store from 2002 to 2011 is illustrated by the graph. Overall, it can be seen that rentals and VHS sales witnessed downward trend, while the amount of DVD selling declined at the same time of Blu-Ray format was reported.
The number of rentals stood at approximately 180 thousand, while the amount of VHS selling roughly 90 thousand. During the period, both of those movie format experienced a decrease trend. While the VHS decrease more than 8 times from initial period in 2005 (end of reported-year), the number that of rentals decline to approximately 65,000 at the end of the period.
Moving to DVD sales, it initially stood at almost 50 thousand in 2002 and saw sharply increase during the five-year period and it reached the perks of selling in 2007 accounted more than 200 thousand. At the same time, the number of Blu-ray selling stood as much as 3 thousand. From 2008, the number of DVD sales declined slowly, however the selling of Blu-Ray observed an incline as much as number that of DVD sales decline. At the end of the period, DVD sales 180,000 while Blu-ray increased to approximately 15,000.
