Application of VORONOI diagrams in contemporary architecture and town planning
Introduction
Design computing is a method of combining our knowledge, experiments and creativities, since geometry is known as the knowledge of measurement and the determination of relations between the components of the form and the structure, it is also used in the definition of the algorithm (a step-by-step procedure for solving a problem or accomplishing some end and algorithmic design (Merriam-Webster)). A computation is a process whereby we proceed from initially given objects, called inputs, according to a fixed set of rules, called a program, procedure, or algorithm, through a series of steps and arrive at the end of these steps with a final result, called the output(Soare 1995). VORONOI tessellation algorithm is considered by contemporary architects as a parametric parser in shell and field divisions, which exist in nature and has expanded in bionic architecture, so discovering principles of relations between the components and geometry in nature help find some efficient solutions in contemporary architecture and urban designs fundamental difficulties. The usage of natural algorithms in architectural concepts was represented by performing VORONOI diagram as an extensive and popular algorithm on some examples of urban and architectural concepts. As the world becomes more and more urbanized, cities try to continually improve their environments, for increased performance of the social and economic functions of life.
