THE PIE CHARTS BELOW SHOW THE PERCENTAGE OF FIVE KINDS OF BOOKS SOLD BY A BOOKSELLER BETWEEN 1972 AND 2012.
The three given pie chat illustrate in term of the popularity of five different books, namely adult fiction, children fiction, biography, travel, and others which were sold by the bookseller over the course of 40 years from 1972 to 2012.
Overall, the figure for fiction books had an upward trend in children and adult whereas there was an opposite pattern for the other kinds.
In 1972, 15% of the least popular was seen by books base on traveling while both biography, children’s fiction and adult fiction saw the same percentage, around 20%. At this point, other types of books were the highest purchased by readers.
Over the 20 years, the ratio of selling children's fiction witness a slight fluctuation 20%, 22%, and 25% respectively. Meanwhile, a significant increase in the rate of fiction books for adults was sold and doubled especially in 2012, 20%, 25%, and 45% respectively.
The revenue of biography and other books, by contrast, were decreased slightly by 5% and reached 15% and 20% respectively. There was the same pattern with travel and other things. The number of other kinds continued to decline twofold after dropping gradually, from 15%, 18% and 10% on travel and 25%,20% and 12% respectively.
