You have just received a credit card statement from your bank. The statement lists a number of expensive purchases that you are sure you did not make.
Write a letter to the bank manager. In the letter:
• Introduce yourself.
• Explain that you did not buy the items listed.
• Say what you would like the bank to do to fix the problem.
Dear Sir or Madam,
My name is Mary Hudson (Identity Card Number: 4783694), who have been using Visa credit card issued by your bank for five years. I am writing to inform you that there is a mistake in the credit card statement which was attached with your email to me on 20 June 2019.
Specifically, the statement indicated that I bought a dress from Sunshine Shop on 2 June 2019 with price of US$99.00, which was paid by this credit card. However, in reality, I did not buy any dress using the credit card. I would be very grateful if the statement could be checked and the result should be available before the deadline for credit card balance payment (10 July 2019).
In case I do not receive your reply before the deadline, I will pay for what I actually spent by the deadline, and shall not responsible for any interest automatically arisen from your mistake, if any.
I am looking forward to hearing from you at the soonest.
Yours truly,
