In 2001, US films received the highest market share in the UK at 76 % which was almost four times that for British movies at 20 %. Over 10 % of Australian films were marketable while the other films had 4 %. Similarly, Australians also chose US films at 67 % than all other movies with about 24 % combined.
In terms of viewers, the UK stood with over 100 Million attendees in 1976 but significantly slid to a low of about 60 Million in 1984. From 1985, this figure gradually rose reaching a peak of over 165 Million in 2003 before tailing off at around 155 Million in 2005. Conversely, Australia had a steady increase in its admission rate starting from 30 Million in 1975 reaching to 80 Million by the end of the period. By comparison, both countries have a difference of over 30 Million in 1975 and 2005.
