dinosaurs endotherms
The reading expressed some reasons to prove that dinosaurs were endotherm. This hypothesis has not been accepted by some scholars due to some reasons which the professor at the lecture mentioned. following sentences will describe the summary of reading reasons and its corresponding opposite opinions which mentioned at the lecture.
First, the assumption that as there are some fossils found at the polar region prove that they were endotherms, has been rejected. First, the professor said that at that time those places could be not as colder as this time in all seasons and even if colder seasons they could migrate to warmer places.
Second, the reading claimed that if these animals were not endotherms they should have legs which were located at places like others reptile, corocoodail for instance. However, the professor said that this type of legs allows these animals to support heavyweight and can resist more under their gravitational weight as they grow.
Finally, the passage said that the presence of Haversian canals would be a proval evidence for these animals being endotherms. But, as mentioned in the lecture the professor said that although it is true that these dinosaurs had Haversian canals and grow fast, it did not confirm they were endotherms.
