You had just missed a friend’s party, write a letter to apologise.
In your letter, you should:
apologise to your friend
explain why you couldn’t attend the party
tell her what steps you will take to avoid missing it in the future.
Dear Maria,
How are you doing? The purpose of my writing is to apologise for not attending your birthday party. However, I was in Luxembourg to attend business meetings, workshops and training. Initially, it was a one week trip to Luxembourg due to repercussions trip extends to two months. Furthermore, while in Luxembourg I visited many famous places in that city to promote our products and for spreading awareness about the product my company launched in that city.
Besides, I am truly regretful that I fumbled your birthday party. I have had a plan to attend your birthday party as I never missed any of your invitations. Therefore, I bought a gift for you to present on the birthday of your likeness before visiting Luxembourg. The birthday present is enclosed.
I hope that you have accepted my apology for not attending your birthday party and forgiven. However, I will make sure for the future to avoid making such mistakes. Also, I hope that you will like your birthday present.
Yours Sincerely,
John Moses
