14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:11.0pt; line-height:107%">In general, there was a dramatic difference between the proportion of cars and food while the rest of the parts slightly changed.
14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:11.0pt; line-height:107%">In detail, food and cars still comprised more than half the budget of uk people. cars accounted for over one-fifth in spending in 1971 and a double increase to 43 % in 2001. Much of the increase in th cars can be explained by the decrease in the food section, it fell by 30% in 2001, which is two-third of the figures in 1971 ( 14% ).
14.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:11.0pt; line-height:107%">On the other hand, other areas also changed moderately. The percentage of petrol and furniture showed a similar pattern of a slight reduction, dropped by 2% and 1% respectively. In terms of the restaurant, the people in the uk spent money doubly, up from 7% in 1971 to 14% in 2001. The proportion gap was particularly large in the computer, which was six times in 2001 compared to the figure in 1971.
