The table below shows expenditures of four car companies on advertising in the UK in 2002.
The table compares the money spent by four automobile companies on promotion in the UK in 2002.
Overall, it is clear that out of the four, Renault spent the most on advertising. Also, the general pattern shows that TV was the most invested channel of promotion, while the opposite was true for cinema.
In 2002, Cetirizine paid 70 million dollars for TV advertising, which was the largest amount across the board. This was followed by Vauxhall and Renault at 65 and 59 million, respectively, while investment in TV promotion by Rover was only 45 million. Press is the second most important advertisement platform for Renault and Rover, costing 45 million and 38 million dollars. By contrast, Cetirizine and Vauxhall spent significantly less, 12 million and 8 million, on press promotion.
Interestingly, radio attracted 15 million dollars of advertising budget in all four companies. Spending on outdoor advertisement ranged from 7 million (by Renault and Vauxhall) to 2 million (by Rover) while cinema was even less prominent, with Rover and Cetirizine did not include it in their advertising schemes.
