The bar chart provides information about the total amount of minutes that the British spent on telephone calls which distinguish into three types of calls between 1995 and 2002.
Overall, the local fixed-line is the most services spent in the UK experienced some fluctuations throughout the period, while the national and international fixed-line calls and mobile calls showed an upward trend from the beginning till 2002.
To be more precise, the total minutes of local fixed-line services was about 72 billion minutes in the initial period, being higher than the other two calls. Then, it hit the highest point of about 90 billion minutes in 1999. However, the figure showed a gradual decrease in the following year and continued to decline to the end of the period nearly 72 billion minutes.
On the other hand, the British spent about 38 billion minutes on national and international services in 1995, whereas the mobile calls were around one-fourth amount of earlier calls. However, the national and international calls experienced a moderate increase of almost 3 billion minutes per year, and it rose to about 61 billion minutes in 2002. Whereas mobile calls showed a slight growth by about 12 billion minutes in 1999, and the number had escalated significantly to nearly one half of the overall figure in 2002.
