Eco certification vs not. TPO7 integrated writing
The reading passage and lecture have conflicting opinions about whether or not it a better idea to use eco-certification in the wood companies. The author strongly postulates that this label is widely used in other countries, but in America, it is a whole different story. On the other hand, the listening adamantly delineates that there are several benefits because of three compelling reasons. First and foremost, according to the author of the excerpt, having an eco-certification tag doesn't appeal clients and cause it more unworthy because most of the americans believe that it is an advertisement of these companies. Nonetheless, the lecture offsets these points by declaring that american buyers will perceive it is the identities of these companies rather than commercials. Therefore, they will certainly accept it more favourably because of the companies' international reputation. Secondly, the professor in the lecture further asserts that everyone does care prices to some degree so it does not influence too much on the consumer's choices. Furthermore, he points out that americans appreciate the things which contribute to the protection of the environment. these claims refute the writer's implications about consumers don't want to buy costly products because the companies need to pay more money on the examination of eco-certification; as a result, they have to increase its costs. Moreover, the author believes that corporations need to pay attention to the prices to keep them low rather than try to acquire certification. The article strongly points out that the business owners expect that they will sell their products in the international market, but in this business area, most of the consumers are domestic ones. it goes without saying that they need to work to fulfil the demands of their domestic consumers. The speaker in the listening counters these indications by insisting that it is crucial to know about how international companies appeal their buyers in this wood business, so they can avoid any risks of dominating their domestic markets by global companies.
