Overall, the process can be separated into the day and night stages — the daylight stage involving the generation of electricity from a river and stored inside the high-level reservoir. At night the water in the low-level tank flows back in another direction towards the initial reservoir and the river.
Firstly, the process involves the water from the river flows into the high-level tank that supported by a dam. There is an intake area leading the water to flow to the power station that is open during the day and close at night. Then, water flows during the day operate the generator by producing electricity through the reversible turbines, and the electricity is sent to the national grid through power lines while the excess water flows to the low-level tank. Lastly, the stored water in the low-level reservoir is pumped back into the high-level tank by the reversible turbines for next day use during the night.
