Torreya Taxifolia tree decline and migration
The decline of the Torreya in the florida is not known to full. In order to thrive it again the passage provides three different solution. however, the solution will be less likely viable what the lecture said.
The first contradictory solution is planting the endenger species in the micro climate where it have been thrive from the past thousands year. The lecture however says that it is not possible as the micro cliamte tends to fluctuate if change in larger cliamte. Increasing global warming and draining of the wet land of the florida cause vary change in the micro climate of the torreya where it once thrived profusely.
Another problem for the solution that assited migration may have unpredictable consequences. past paragon of assisted migration of the black locust in the norther part of the florida shows that it may have undigested results; at that time, it may have thrive but it shifted many native plant species of that area region which was endengered.
The thrid solution of research centre to rehabilate the torreya unlikely be complete solution of the problem. To profilate the species, diesease resistant nature of it is must. however, this condition is only possible when it has more diversity and the more space to grow. Due to the limited space of the research center, tyhe abilty of resistance rarely within the plant grows inside it.
In conclusion, each solution in the passage hardly address the problem of impending torreya extinction.
