The reading and the lecture both discusses incidents that happened after huge and significant forest fire in Yellowstone. The author, first of all, mentions a policy named " let it burn", and after that explains the bad and evil effects of this forest fire on this forest. On contrast, the speaker believes that fire is a part of natural cycle, and also says this important forest fire was creative. Then, she opposes each of agreements described in the article.

First of all, the lecturer expresses that this event caused new plants colonized there, and it made the forest to be diverse.she claims that new small plants replaced to the trees which require the open and shade area. However, the article states that this huge and devastating fire destroyed all of the vegetation, and made the forest as a desert.

Moreover, on the basis of the passage, the forest wildlife was influenced. The author points out that many of large animals such as deers ran away when they faced to the fire, and also some small animals couldn't escape and survive themselves. The reading describes this incident as a reason of disruptive of food chain. The speaker rebuts this claim. she states that when new plants arose there, new animals went there, and choosed as their habitats such as rabbits. she expresse it could make the food chain more vigorous and stronger.

Finally, according to the lecture, tourists went there next year after the incident and each year after that. that's how the speaker retorts the last argument made by the author.
