The charts below show the proportions of the world's oil resources held in different areas, together with the proportions consumed annually in the same areas.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The charts provide the rates of the oil resources that some countries have as well as rates of consumption of this resource in the same places.
Overall, the bar charts contain the information that is divided into several geographical areas such as Canada, Middle East countries and parts of Europe.
According to the data, Middle East countries own more than 50% of world’s oil resources, so this fact makes this area the richest. Canada is on the second place with only 14% of oil resources. However, not all regions have such high rates, so the US, Western Europe and some other regions have about 1% of this resource. Moreover, Australia and New Zealand have the lowest amount of oil that can be estimated in less than a percent for both countries.
On the other hand, Asia and the United States use about 25% of all oil resources. Despite the low rates of holding, Western Europe consume about 20% of the oil. What is more, Canada uses only 2.5% which is similar to Africa. The lowest rate of consumption relates to island countries such as Australia and New Zealand.
