The table shows the number of employees and factories producing silk in England and Wales between 1851 and 1901.

The table compares two different countries, namely England and Wales, in terms of the workforce in silk production over the course of 50 years starting from 1851.
Generally, the total of silk workers in the two nations declined over the period and that significantly more women were employed than men in this industry. Also, the number of silk manufacturing factories increased over the 50 years phase, despite some fluctuation.
As can be seen from the table, in 1851, the silk worker reached a peak of 130,750 employees, including 76,786 females and approximately 54,000 males. In contrast, the number of silk companies hit the lowest point of 272 at the same time. However, ten years later, this figure had almost tripled, reaching 761, while the total employee experienced a significant decrease over 20,000 people.
Over the four decades ensuing, because the amount of woman and man staff gradually decreased throughout this time, to 25,567 and 13,375 respectively, so which caused a drop in the sum of personnel, at nearly 39,000 in 1901. Meanwhile, there was a mild oscillation in the quantity of silk workshop and finally, this figure fell from 761 in 1861 to 623 in 1901.
