You are going to another country to study. You would like to do a part-time job while you are studying, so you want to ask a friend who lives there for some help.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter,
give details of your study plans
explain why you want to get a part-time job
suggest how your friend could help you find a job
Dear Ali,
How're you, my friend? How’s your family? We haven't met since we got together last year at my brother's birthday. Hope things are OK at your ends. I'm planning to study abroad in the USA; I do need your help.
Well, I'm going to travel to California to study PHD on science, as you know I want to improve my skills in order to get a great job in my country. So, I 'm planning to go there next July, and I will study for two years.
As you know, I depend on myself; my family has financial issues, so I can't request any money from my family. Here, I do request from you if you can help me to find a part-time job which will help me to get a fund to cover my requirements during my time there.
I know you are living there for a long time with your family, so I recommend that if you ask your parents to search for me about part-time work, I will appreciate that.
I miss you very much. Till I see you, send my love to your beloved family.
Lots of love,
Ahmed
