Children nowadays watch significantly more television than those in the past, which reduces their activity levels accordingly. Why is this the case?
What measures can you suggest to encourage higher levels of activity among children?
It is undeniable that more and more children have been addicted to TV programs than those in the past that gives rise to reducing their leisure activity levels. There are several causes of this alarming phenomenon, but measures could certainly be taken to tackle the problem.
There have many interesting programs on TV to meet demands of children's interests, such as cartoon films, soap operas or action films, have increased in the number and developed in quality, and this attracts a greater number of children viewers. Furthermore, wtih cable TV, viewers have easily access to a huge variety of entertainment channels, it is many people's favorite way to wind down after a hard day at study. These above indications can be reasonable arguments to explain why youngsters in the modern world only stay at home after school time and spend much on digital technologies like television, which is considered as a drug.
There are several actions to deal with the problem described above, both parents and authorities play an important role but parents are absolutely crutial to limit the least time of children to watch TV. Children should be promoted to do fun outdoor activities, such as ice-skating, football or volleyball with their peers after school hours. A second measure is to inspire children to leave TV and to concentrate on their studies, parents should take children to go to bookshops or libraries. Finally, physical education classes as part of their curriculum, it ensures the recommended levels of activity are completed each day.
In conclusion, various measures can be taken to tackle the problems that are certain to arise as youngsters nowadays spend more time watching television than doing activities.
