The provided diagram illustrates the stages of the life cycle of a salmon. It indicates the stages from the time that the salmon is an egg until the time it finally becomes an adult fish.
The first stage shows that salmons that have already become adult fishes incubate eggs through a process called spawning. After a few time those eggs emerge releasing the newborn salmons and those salmons are taken care of in the fresh water.
Later on, after the salmons have grown a little more they move to an estuary where they are also taken care of. The salmons then migrate to the ocean's rearing areas where they grow and mature finally turning into adult fishes. After the complete growth and maturity of the salmons, they migrate again to areas of spawning in order to incubate more eggs and this is the place where the whole process of reproduction recommences.
