With more and more people attach their importance to sports exercise, they pay more into doing sports. Some well-known sports professionals have opportunities to get higher paid, thanks to the popularity of fitness and the importance of sports. It is controversial that some of them even get paid a great deal of money much more than people in other important professions.
Some people think it is fully reasonable for sports professionals to get higher salary because it takes a lot of effort for athletes to train. Some high-intensity training may spoil their health. For instance, Weili Zhang, the MMA athlete, always gets badly hurts during competitions and training. Such kind of athletes deserve a great deal more money than people in other fields. On the other hand, some national-level athletes won honors for their country in some international games, and because of the previous intensive training, their sports careers are so short that their country principally give them generous subsidies after their retirement.
On the contrary, some people consider that it is unnecessary to give them so much money. Compared with some professional fields, sports field is not that specialized. Though more and more people pay more time and money in sports exercise and gym, it is unfair to give much more salary to a personal trainer than a doctor or a scientist. In a word, some people have the opposite views that some of the sports professionals make even less social contribution than some people in other important professions.
In my point of view, how much money the sports professions can get depends on the what specific job they have. For athletes, they deserve high salary because of their job specification and the pressure and risk they have. However, also as sports experts, some personal trainers or some sports guiders whose jobs are much more relaxing and unspecialized have no rights to ask a higher salary than the experts in some other important professions.
