The reading passage claims that conditions on the Venus are so extreme and inhospitable for maintaining a human presence and provided reasons for this claim. However, the professor in the lecture casts doubts on the points made in the reading.
First, considering the article atmospheric pressure at Venus's surface is much greater than Earth's surface and in this condition all spacecraft that have landed have been crushed. In contrast, the professor in the lecture contradicts the idea and further explains that scientist can establish stations above surface because with moving far from surface the Venus' s pressure rise down to normal pressure without any risk for spacecraft.
Second, the reading passage claims that there are no reservoirs of water on Venus 's surface and the planet' s atmosphere made up mostly of carbon dioxide. Admittedly, the professor validates the information presented in the article and make the point that Venus 's atmosphere contains elements that are so useful for producing water. during some chemical process scientist can produce enough water and oxygen from its air.
Third, the reading passage puts forward the information about very little sunlight due to thick clouds in Venus planet. In the same way, the speaker justifies the point and says that it is not true and most of them are not so think.
To sum up, the writer and speaker both hold conflicting views about maintaining a human on Venus. It is clear that they will have trouble finding common ground on this issue.
