The bar chart illustrates the total minutes of three different telephone calls in Australia between 2001 and 2008.
Overall, the figure for local telephone calls ranked the highest all the time. Whereas the local calls witnessed a decline, there was an increasing trend of national and international and mobiles data till the end of the period.
Looking at the local data, it was recorded with 72 minutes in the year of 2001. The number of local telephone calls had a gradual rise to 90 minutes till 2005. After reaching a peak, it then dropped to the 2001 figure at the end of the period.
The national and international calls came up with the second positions, which rose gradually from 38 minutes in 2001 to 61 minutes until 2008. Finally, the mobiles had the similar trend as national and international data. Starting with just 2 minutes at the beginning of the period, it went up to 12 minutes and was four time higher than the 2005 number after 3 years.
