The line graph gives information about the number of people aged 65 in Japan, Sweden, and the USA over the period of a century. Overall, all figures enjoyed an upward trend. Both figures had a similar position in the beginning of the period, and they had a bigger number with a very small number at the end of the period.
According to the graph, the proportion of people aged 65 in the USA, Sweden, and Japan stood at just below 10%, around 7%, and 5% respectively. While the proportion in the USA and Sweden increased significantly to approximately 15% in 1980, the figure for Japan suffered a moderate decrease to roughly 3%. Surprisingly, Japan rose again to about 8% at the present time, and has a similar number with the USA and Sweden, which were 15% and around 17%.
As it can be seen, all figures are predicted to continue to increase in the next two decades. The USA is predicted to have around 25% of the aged 65 population. Meanwhile, Sweden and Japan are predicted to reach 25% and just over 25% by the end of the period.
