The graph below shows the contribution of three sectors - agriculture, manufacturing and business and financial services - to the UK economy in the twentieth century. Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and the comparisons where relevant.
The graph shows the contribution of agriculture, manufacturing, and business and financial services to the economy. These three sectors have different contribution percentages in 4 distinct year periods.
In 1900, and 1950 agriculture had the highest value around with %50, by the 1975, it dramatically decreased to 10%. Nevertheless, in present, it has dropped almost zero. By contrast, business and financial services were almost zero in 1900, and 1950 years period. After, it sharply increased during the period from 1950 to 2000s. At the end of the year, business and financial became the sector that has the highest contribution percentage.
Manufacturing steadily dropped each year during the period. It started with 45% at the beginning of the year, then decreased to 40% in 50 years. It continued to fall gradually, so it reached 20% at the end of the year.
The overall picture is that agriculture, and manufacturing sectors seem to follow the same trend that both had a lot lower percentages at the end of the year, while business and financial services increased during the whole period.
