Energy usage in the USA
The line graph illustrates the energy usage in the USA by six different fuel resources namely Petrol and Oil, Coal, Natural Gas, Nuclear, Solar/Wind and Hydropower during the year 1980 to 2030, measured in quadrillion units.
Over the span of 50 years, the usage of the fuel in the USA as Petrol and Oil, Coal, Natural Gas, Nuclear, and Solar/Wind increased, while the quantity of fuel as Hydropower remained almost constant throughout.
Beginning with the usage of Petrol and Oil as fuel started with 35 quadrillion units in 1980, and decreased slightly to 31 quadrillion units in 1985. It came back to its starting point in 1990; however, there was a sharp rise year on year (35 quadrillion unit to 47 quadrillion unit), from 1995 to 2030. Talking about Coal (starting with 16 quadrillion units) and Natural Gas (starting with 20 quadrillion unit) both mostly showed upper trend ending their journey with coal at 30 quadrillion unit and natural gas at 25 quadrillion unit at the end of 2030.
The last three energy consumers Nuclear, Solar/Wind, and Hydropower started at 4 quadrillion unit in the year 1980. Nuclear made a slight increase, while Solar/Wind remained steady throughout the years, and hydropower made a slight decrease and remained at the bottom throughout the years.
