Summarize the points made in the lecture, being sure to explain how they oppose specific points made in the reading passage.
The reading and lecture are both about the beaver-like rat called Nutria. The author of the reading feels that Nutria is too much dangerous for the habitants to grow. He further elaborates on this animal and points out the reasons how to overcome the disaster that has been made by Nutria. The lecturer challenges the reasons that has been given by author. He is of the opinion that controlling Nutria is much more difficult than what the author feels about it.
First of all, the author argues that spreading the farming area with strong fences of hard materials would be better option. However, the lecturer rebuts this idea by mentioning that Nutria is having so much notorious and ill behavior that it will dig the underground of the area and the security of the farming zone will be under question.
Secondly, the writer feels that, drying out the drainage would alleviate the suffering from the Nutria, as they are more attracted to the water. In contrast to this, the lecturer argues that drying up the water system would not be too much effective, as it will hinder the growth of crops, which will give detrimental effects toward the maintenance of crops.
Finally, the author points out that, consuming the meat of Nutria would make the job easier . He is of the point that Nutria contains so much healthy nutrients that it will be beneficial for the human health. But the lecturer doesn't agree this point by mentioning that the meat of the Nutria is exposed to harmful bacteria and even the deadly parasite resides on the body of Nutria. Which will surely be causing harmful effect on the human body if they choose to consume the flesh of Nutria.
