go green
both reading and the lecture are about going green. The author thinks that going green has many advantages, while the lecturer have many remarks on that.
First in the passage the author claims that going green can lower enviromental pollution by reducing amount of waste that can irreversibly damage the environment. On the other hand, the professor explains that reducing the amount of waste is not an obvious thing to do since it is not something that one person can do.He also mentions that without convincing all companies and individual to protect the environment , we cannot reach the goal of an environment with less polluants,
Second, the passage points out that going green can improve companies` sales , because customers prefer company that demonstrates eco-friendly image . However, the professor thinks exactly the opposite. He says eventhough it may seems appealing to use eco-freindly stroyers in a coffe shop, it will lead to increase the cost which will make the coffe shop lose customers.
Finally, the auther asserts that going green enables people to save money and uses installation of solar pannels instead of using electricity as an example to illustrate that point. The professor despute this idea by pointing out that this is not practical for the big industries that use tremendous amount of energy. He explains that these pannels cost a lot of money as well as the money needed for periodic maintanace .
to sum up the lecturer disputes every single claim made by the author.
