Overall, the town became more developed, and provided more options for shopping and places of interest.
From 2000 till now, the university is one of the places that remains unchanged, while in the vacant lot nearby, they built a new Hall of residence. All the trees in the North-east are replaced by a new shopping centre, and across from this area, they are constructing the new Airport. Right in front of the university, a new train station is built up, and the train station in the northwest is redesigned as a police station.

Ahead of the university, they build a tramline across the city centre, and develop the bike rental service around this area. Nearby, the old market is developed into a new shop and the new covered market is built up. The road in front of it was redesigned as the pedestrian zone. The port in the southeast remains unchanged, while the adjacent area is developed with places of interests are the cinema & the bars and clubs
